How do you find the statement?

If you want to check if the statement is valid, first you have to understand what Domain Authority is.  Domain authority includes:

1. Domain Age
2. Domain Expiry
3. Spam Compliant
4. Web Traffic

Some people think that the domain authority is just a matter of email marketings.  I am afraid it is wrong.   Search engines love to see the domain authority, say the length of the domain name it has been using, to evaluate if  your website worthwhile to be trusted.   A website with 5 years’ history is more favorable than 2 years ones.  Try to think, if you build a website that creates invalid clicks or spammy pages, probably your website will be complained by audience or even banned by ISP.  As a result, these websites won’t last for long.

In addition, if your domain ganna expiry next month, I suggest you to take immediate action to renew the domain.   Search engine wants to know if you really want to dedicate to your website.  2 to 3 years of domain registration is recommended.

For instance, if your website send out spam emails to your customer, and the customer complains about your website to ISP, you are in a risk of  being removed from search engine or even not allowed to make your domain lived.  Remember, please don’t spam your customers!
